Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Shanah @BionicBookWorm. You should go check her out and join in on Top 5 Tuesday!I love fantasy novels. When I first really started getting to reading, fantasy was like the only thing I read. I read about vampires, werewolves (not Twilight), fallen angels, etc. and I loved them all! I continue to love fantasy, although I am branching out more in the genres that I read. Fantasy will always be one of my most favorite genres, so here are a few of my all time favorites (definitely not all but a few):
The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
This book is an awesome twist on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. My brother actually read this in his eighth grade English class and told me about it and I decided to check it out. I’m glad I did because it was so good! There are actually a couple of books in the series about the different characters, but I have not read them. I’m sure they are good though! The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
I really loved this series. I can remember reading it for the first time. I would stay up late reading and reading and then finally being like, “I have got to get some sleep” and laying down and starting to put together the rest of the story in my mind and deciding I just HAD to continue reading. Needless to say, this is an awesome series.
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
I LOVED THIS BOOK. I had never read anything with Vikings before (although it doesn’t come out and say they are Vikings, you can tell). It’s got the perfect balance of fighting, romance, and family love. The cover of this book is beautiful as well, simple as it is. The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater
I read this series a loooong time ago, but I remember loving it. I love fantasy stories where there are characters that are made for each other. I also liked it because it was told by both main characters points of view. I feel like you get more of the story that way which is always better. I really need to reread this series soon.
Fallen by Lauren Kate
Another series I read a while back. Again, the characters were made for each other. I mean come on, they have been in love for centuries. I remember spending hours and hours at a time reading this series on my Kindle. I loved it so much. I need to reread this one as well.
The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorensen
I remember this series being so different than anything else I had ever read, and I loved that so much. It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but it was such a great series. Most of the fantasy novels I’ve read featured vampires, fairies, witches/wizards, fallen angels, or werewolves, but this book was different since it featured a fallen star. I definitely recommend it.
