Top 5 Tuesday | Books That Need to Be a Movie

T5T

Hey guys! It’s time for Top 5 Tuesday! This weeks topic is about books that we feel like should be movies. On one hand, there are lots of books I wish were movies, on the other hand, I get pretty upset when they screw up books I really like when it gets turned into a movie. It’s silly, I know, but I can’t help it. Also, sometimes I have to see the movie first to better understand the book. That’s the case with a lot of Sci-Fi books, in my opinion, for me. So, sometimes book to movie adaptations are great and sometimes they’re just not.

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Shanah @BionicBookWorm. Each week we respond to that week’s topic and link back to her page. Go check out her page to join in!

Beautiful Disaster/Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

I put both of these books on here because it’s the same story but told from each of the main character’s point of views. I would prefer Walking Disaster, but I’d take either. There was rumor a few years ago that they were making Beautiful Disaster into a movie, but nothing happened so that was disappointing. I think these books would translate into a really good movie.

Lucky Break by Brooke Carter

I think this would make a great sports movie. The main character gets hurt, learns some lessons while she’s recovering, then comes back strong as ever. I would watch it even though I’m a huge sports fan or anything. I really liked this book and I think it would translate well into a movie.

The Evolution of Jeremy Warsh by Jess Moore

This book would make a wonderful movie and anyone that has read it would agree. It’s sort of a coming of age movie (but not really) where you watch Jeremy evolve into this whole new Jeremy. I would definitely go see it.

Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young

This book would make an awesome action movie with a badass female lead. It would have Vikings, fighting, and a little romance. There would be a killer soundtrack in the background (no pun intended). Oh, I wish someone would make this happen!

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

This book to movie adaptation would be a lot like The Perks of Being a Wallflower I would assume because it is also written in letters. I think we’d all fall in love with the main character and the story she has to tell just as we all did with Charlie in Perks. If you haven’t read either of these books you really should go check them out!

What books do you want to see made into movies?

I love the variety in genres! We need another great sports movie with a female lead (Bend It Like Beckham needs company) so I’d be really excited to see something like Lucky Break out there. Great post!
