Hey Guys! This month’s Top Five Tuesday topics are based on the houses from Harry Potter. Each house has its own set of traits that determine which house you will be in. I love this topic because even if you haven’t read the books (or just haven’t finished them all, guilty!) you can still do this topic you just need to know the traits for each house. This week’s house is Hufflepuff!
Hufflepuff Traits – They are hard-working, determined, tenacious, loyal, honest, genuine, well rounded, fair and just, open-minded, giving, good-hearted, accepting, compassionate, practical, patient, unemotional, and dependable. Their loyalty is not given – it’s earned.
The goal is to pick five books that you think that particular house might like to read or if characters from that book would fit into that house.
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Shanah @BionicBookWorm. Each week we respond to that week’s topic and link back to her page. Go check out her page to join in!
I chose Stolen Time for Hufflepuff because of the main characters Dorothy and Ash. Dorothy used to be a con artist working with her mom until she stows away on Ash’s time machine. Once Ash realizes what Dorothy has done he gets angry but throughout the story, they both learn to trust each other. I think Ash would be a Hufflepuff student because he’s always been hard-working and loyal.
Sky in the Deep is a perfect book for Hufflepuff. Sky in the Deep is about Vikings and their clans protecting their own people. Eelyn, the main character, is a strong, loyal warrior in her clan and knows her way around the battlefield. I think Hufflepuff would enjoy this book, but I also think Eelyn would make a good Hufflepuff student.
I picked Insurgent because Tris, the main character, is strong and loyal to her friends and family. Tris has come a long way since she left Abnegation. I think she’d be a good candidate for Hufflepuff.
We all know Katniss Everdeen is hard working. She has no choice to be otherwise because of the conditions in which she lives, but I believe even if she had it all she would still be the same woman. I think she would fit in well in the Hufflepuff house.
I think The Lightning Thief is a good pick for Hufflepuff because pretty much everyone in those books is hard-working, both the good guys and the bad guys. Percy and his friends are loyal to one another because they each have proven it to one another. I think Percy, Annabeth, and Grover would all be in the Hufflepuff house.
