The Perks of Being a Wallflower will always be a favorite of mine. Yes, I do understand what it’s about and no, that’s not the reason it is a main favorite of mine. This book is a favorite because the story is real. Charlie (MC) is an awkward freshman who makes friends with a couple upperclassmen. They introduce Charlie to new things before they eventually leave for college. By the end of the book, we find out why Charlie is the way he is and you just want to give him a hug. I also like how it’s written in letters from Charlie to a friend we don’t know.

Sky in the Deep is a more recent favorite. It earned its favoritism by having a totally bad a** main character. Eelyn fights with an ax in one hand and a sword in the other. Every five years two Viking clans fight and in the last battle Eelyn lost her brother, or so she thought. I enjoyed this book sooo much.

Walk-to-Remember-ebook

A Walk to Remember is not only a favorite of mine it’s also my favorite Nicholas Sparks book. I love Jamie and Landon’s relationship sooo much. I actually had to write an essay on character development once in college about a movie character and I wrote about Landon’s character and how he changed from being a total jerk to a sweet guy in love with Jamie. Warning though, don’t read this book or watch the movie without a box of tissues nearby.

Again, With the Fire on High is a favorite because it is so real. Emoni is a teen mom living with her grandmother trying to finish high school and trying to pursue her passion: cooking. Everything that happens in this book is so relatable and that’s what makes it so good. I highly recommend it.

I was already on my toes excited about the next book in this series before this book was even published. This book is full of magic, betrayal, and action. It was so good. The MC has the ability to talk to and use the power of the gods and her village is attacked leaving her and the woman who helped her escape the only ones left. They meet some people in the woods and they decide to kill the king to end the war. It’s really interesting and I highly recommend it.

Going on with my trend, The Evolution of Jeremy Warsh is a favorite of mine because you guessed it, it’s real and relatable. Jeremy has been stuck in a rut since his grandpa died and the events throughout the story help get him out of it.

This series is a major favorite because it’s the first series I read in its entirety. I really wanted a Kindle when they first came out and my mom said I had to prove that I would actually read enough to warrant her buying me one. So, I read them all. I would lay in bed reading them and be like I have to go to sleep and put it down. Only to lay there, trying to put the story together in my mind.

I read this series in 2013 while I was in the hospital after my transplant. I really love this series and absolutely hate what they did with the TV series based on the books. I read the first five books before the sixth book had come out so I plan on rereading them all soon plus the other series in the Shadowhunter world.

Kate Lauren FALLEN series composite

I absolutely love this series. I can remember pulling all-nighters reading these books. I wish they would’ve done a better job with the movie they made based on the books, but that’s usually the case. This was probably my first series with fallen angels and I easily got hooked. You should definitely check it out if you haven’t already.

The Hate U Give is one of those books that everyone should read. The author covers relatable topics like minorities, stereotypes, etc. They did an amazing job with the movie even though they did cut some stuff out. You should check it out!
