I picked I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore for this week’s book. This is such a good Sci-fi book and movie. It’s about aliens who live among us, but not in a cheesy way. It’s hard to explain, you should just read it and the rest of the series. Here are a few quotes I liked from it:

“You know the saying: he who doesn’t understand history is doomed to repeat it. And when it’s repeated the stakes are doubled.”

I am Number Four, Pittacus Lore

I liked this quote because it’s true. Learn from history and the effects of what happened.

“One of the gifts our planet gave us is to love completely. Without jealousy, or insecurity, or fear. Without pettiness. Without anger.”

Wouldn’t that be great?

“The price of memory, is the memory of sorrow it brings.”

True True True. Every time we remember something, there’s that bit of sadness that it’s over, or that person is no longer with us, etc.

“That’s the worst way to miss someone. When they’re right beside you and you miss them.”

I am Number Four, Pittacus Lore

Missing someone who is still with us is the worst kind of missing someone.

“When you have lost hope, you have lost everything. And when you think all is lost, when all is dire and bleak, there’s always hope.”

I am Number Four, Pittacus Lore

There’s always some kind of hope no matter what, even when we think all is lost. It’s hard sometimes to realize that.

“We don’t have to be defined by the things we did or didn’t do in our past. Some people allow themselves to be controlled by regret. Maybe it’s a regret, maybe it’s not. It’s merely something that happened. Get over it.”

I am Number Four, Pittacus Lore

We have to get over the things in our past or we can never move on. You’re not defined by your past.
