This week’s book is You’re Not That Great by Elan Gale. What a great name for a self-help book, right? This was actually a great book and quite hilarious I might add. I think I’m just going to leave these few quotes I enjoyed here for you guys. I don’t think I really need to explain them. I hope you liked them as much as I did.

You can also read my review for You’re Not that Great here.

“The number one problem that results from thinking your great is that you gravely miscalculate what you deserve.”

“Smart people know they’re dumb, dumb people think they’re smart.”

“Everything happens for a reason is a warm cushion. To actually admit responsibility for your actions and to admit you’re an idiot and you actually fucked up. that’s really scary. To take in that damage is a lot harder than just saying everything happens for a reason.”

“Here’s the bad news. You and everyone else around you have been trained not to just settle for mediocracy, but to actually strive for it. You’ve been force-fed the concept that simple is better, that average is supreme, that losing is winning. You’ve been running towards the wrong goal and you’ve wasted a tremendous amount of your precious life trying to go after something that you’ve incorrectly convinced yourself you want.”
