There are lots of books I wish I had read a long time ago. Especially the books that got me into reading in the first place. Most of the books that will be on my list are books I have read in the last couple of years, but that I wish I had read sooner.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl. Each week we respond to that week’s topic and link it back to her page. Go check her page out to join in!
Percy Jackson & the Olympians – This series is actually the series that really got me into reading. I mean, sure I read every now and then before, but not like I do now. Kindle’s were still fairly new and my mom had just gotten one so, of course, I wanted one. She said she would get me one if I could prove that I would actually use it. So, here we are, eleven years and four Kindles later and I’m still hooked on reading.
Harry Potter – I just finished reading Order of the Phoenix and just as I have with the first four books, I chastise my younger self for not reading them sooner.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Perks is one of my most favorite books, and while I wish I had read it sooner, I don’t know if a younger me would have understood and appreciated it as much.
The Mortal Instruments – These books will always be a big deal to me. I read the first five books during my bone marrow transplant in 2013. They provided thousands of pages of distraction during a rough time.
Shadow and Bone – I recently read this and really liked it. I just wish I had read it sooner instead of just because of the hype for the Netflix show.
The Looking Glass Wars – Not that I have read many Alice in Wonderland retellings, but I really thought this one was cool. I actually probably would have never read it if it weren’t for my brother having read it in his english class.
Where You Go, Bernadette – Again, I wish I had read this book sooner instead of because of the movie that was coming out (which doesn’t do the book justice by the way).
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – This book was really different for me and I really wish I had read it sooner than I did.
Saving Zoë – I am actually kind of disappointed in myself with this one. I have read another series by Alyson Noel and loved it, so I don’t know why I didn’t think to check out more of her books.
