Book Quotes | We are Okay by Nina LaCour

We are okay

I’ve read We are Okay by Nina LaCour twice and I have liked it both times. It’s about a girl who used to live with her grandfather and discovers some heartbreaking things after his death. It’s not a long book, but these four quotes really stuck out the most to me and I figured I would share them with you. If you’ve read this book and have more quotes from it I’d love to hear them!

“We were nostalgic for a time that wasn’t yet over.”

“What I mean is don’t be a person who seeks out grief. There is enough of that in life.”

“If only I had something to take the edge off the loneliness. If only lonely were a more accurate word. t should sound much less pretty.”

“That girl she was trying to reach — she must have been running from something. She must have been someone special, for her friend to keep trying so hard. Too bad she was gone now.”
